I was really angry in the past
week. From an article that claimed;
we as women bring rape on ourselves by dressing indecently, guys don't have
self control and every man has had to urge to have sex with an unwilling
partner to the agbayas entrusted with power who have been having shameful war
of words on the Obi Ezekwesili UNN speech among other issues. I am however
letting go of the anger. Life is too short. *flips afro...realises no flipping
happens then pats afro* Whenever we decide to #Occupy and demand
accountability, please let me know. #rantover
*in my poshest breeish accent* Hope everyone is enjoying the month of
love. I know MsTizzle has almost given up on me.
She gave me this award late last year and some jamb questions along with
it. So January eyes, i’ll be answering the
Liebster questions now. Sorry it took this long and thank you again for the
award.
The rules are as follows
1. Thank and link back to the giver.
2. Answer the giver’s questions.
3. Nominate five other blogs with fewer than
200 followers.
4. Ask five questions for one’s nominees to
answer.
5. Post it on your blog.
Tizzle’s Questions:
1. “The pen is mightier than the sword” in your own words
Did you know "word"
used in that question is a Metonymy? It's when a thing or concept is not called
by its own name, but by the name of something intimately associated with that
thing or concept. Other examples, Hollywood - for US cinema Industry, Hand -
for help, White House: Presidency, Crown
- for a royalty etc

Back to the point, words are much more important than
the sword. With words, you can make or mar but a sword only destroys. Words can
be used to create beautifully and convey various emotions. They could also be
used to incite. I bet everyone remembers the "I have a dream" speech.
That's the power of words. Be careful of the words you speak.
2. Write a 3-line poem/prose/anything on the topic “Blogging Frees Me”
All bottled up in misery
Suffering in deadly silence
Expression brings release
*covers face*
3. What year would you gladly re-live given the chance and why?
Ah, there are numerous stuff i
wish i could relive but I think i'll go with 1999/2000. It was truly an
eye-opening and interesting time in my life. I met some amazing and awesome
people. I wish i could take my bb back to that year. The memories are hilarious.
4. Mums or much older sisters? Which of them do you think influence your decisions more? Why? (No excuses, improvise)
I think older sisters. I have
two and they're the bestest in the world. Moms could get all highhanded but
sisters have been there and recently too so they can relate better.
5. Choose between Peter Piper Picked a Peck of… and This is The Key of
the Kingdom, In that Kingdom there is a city, in that city… Complete either of
the two. No cheating!! By that I mean no one including uncle Google is to be
consulted.
Hmn *biting nails* I don't remember both completely so i'll go
with the shorter one so my shame can be reduced *completely covers face*
Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled pepper.
A peck of pickled pepper, Peter Piper picked.
If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled pepper
I can't remember the last line but
i know it's repetition *face still fully covered*
Now to my questions, gens gens
1) What makes you happy and what
are you passionate about?
2) Do you remember that time 5
years ago when you were extremely upset? Does it really matter now?
3) What would you do differently
if you knew nobody would judge you?
4) If you could offer a newborn
child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
5) Would you break the law to
save a loved one?
En en, you know i like to rebel
and ignore rules ba? You didn't know? Well, now you do. So i hereby tag:
Prism: You're an inspiration plus have dimples and can dance ;)
Daugther of Her King: So you can finally do a short
post lol
Feyi: Just because i can :D
Yeva: Just because
Jemima: You can't keep running away ma'am
SugarSugar: I think you need to spill *muah*
Lukina: I kinda sorta like your energy
Eya: Stop torturing me with food pictures *mock anger* Keep them coming ;)
Eya: Stop torturing me with food pictures *mock anger* Keep them coming ;)

I read that article on the rape issue. It was just so disheartening. I knew someone in his right senses wouldn't write that, certainly wouldn't!
ReplyDeleteI like the questions you are putting on the 5 tagged bloggers. Now, let's see how there are going to answer them. *giggling mischievously*
http://josephomotayo.blogspot.com/2013/02/lagostraffic-many-voices-one-memory-1.html
To answer ur last query...'yeah, you are wierd and nobody else does that'.
ReplyDeleteAwww, c'mon dont cry, i was just fooling with ya.
Meanwhilly, a point of correction *donning my samurai hat*, "a sword can neither kill nor save. It is an inanimate object. Its power only depends on the one who wields it, the sword is only a tool, a slave of its master's wish..."
ps: A pen can kill babes, if nothing else, havent you seen enough 007 to convince you so? :P
-ManCee

ReplyDeleteIt is always easier to point the finger and rest the blame for immoral, demoralizing and humiliating acts on women so the don't have to examine their deviant degenerative ideas/behaviors and diseased minds.
