DO I NEED TO HAVE ANY OTHER REASON TO BE EXCITED? IT'S FRIDAY!!!

*Ignores cowebs* How have y'all been? Well, Posh hasn't discovered my last post yet so everything is alright with the world and i'm awesome (*eyes 9jas Great) I know y'all missed me. I missed you too (please don't burst my bubble). Can someone uproot Coy Introvert and get her to blog? And Honeydame too plix. I'm guessing she's under YY someone's Abe abo still.....

So i have been skittish about posting my creative work's on here (poems and short stories) but when Da Injurer asked me to do a guest post, i decided to write fiction for his blog. So please check it out here and show your girl some love let me know what you think ;)

A friend sent me this and i'm sharing. I wish i could take the credit for this but i can't. Only the words in italics are mine.

Smile: It makes a world of difference. It’s the most beautiful make-up ever. Mine is usually measured in mega-watts :D
Dance: who knows when you won't be able to. I know all about this. Trust me on this one, life might not always play the music you like but you should dance anyway.
Cry: Holding those emotions in is bad for you. Sometimes we need to cry to be able to see clearly again. I don't mean you should turn into water works though ;)
Kiss: Kisses are the most wonderful things in the world. (ask Gretel about this one lol)
Laugh: What's the point in hiding happiness? It’s the most wonderful feeling ever. Share it.
Frown:Why not let him know you're unhappy? (Him huh? They're usually the culprit. No? Not always though) Frowns give you ugly lines on your face unlike the fresh ones you get when you smile or laugh. Frowning is such a waste of time and happiness.
Apologize: You don't want to lose friends. Make that call. Send that SMS. Reach out. Apologise. Hang out. Make time. Live life. Enjoy it. Don't leave it until later. Just do it
Hug: There's no better feeling being wrapped up close to someone you love. Just Hug it out. It's free, simple, means a lot and it feels wonderful. I’m a serial ‘hugger’ :)
LIVE: because life is truly beautiful and all you have is the here and now. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.

I'm giving a sharrout to MsTizzle. She did a give-away for her bloggerversary earlier in the year and i won Myne's book: A Love Rekindled. I'm still excited. Thanks girl. *hugs*

Have a fantastic weekend. Love y'all muchos
I'll be back

P.S: Each time i get a new follower, i dance azonto :D

So, this is a short post. If my friend sees this, I’m dead for sure. I hope I come back here alive though because I’ll really miss you guys.

Do not read this at work. If you are at work or a public place, close this window and step away from your computer or phone now! I repeat, DO NOT READ THIS!

Now go ahead and read hehehe.

I read Honeydame’s last post where she shared one of her most embarrassing moments. I thought it was hilarious, so I sent the link to my friend (lets call her Posh) who in turn decided to tell me about hers.

Posh: I was coming back from somewhere one day when I was about that age, then shit was catching me. I was sha tryna hold myself. When I was a few houses away from mine, I couldn't take it any longer
Toin: Oh oh!
Posh: There was a lil bush beside a family friend’s house & i quickly squatted to do my thing
Toin: Berra
Posh: Dunno where this boy sprang out from. He was a year ahead of me in primary school
Toin: Nooooooooooooooooooo
Posh: He chased me with half the poo dangling out my shithole and my pants down my ankle
Posh: He chased me all the way to my house
Toin:  rotflmao Tears
Posh: I ran like a common criminal
Toin: hahahaha
Posh: Needless to say by the time I got home, I didn't feel like shitting again
Toin: I swear, I have tears in my eyes
Posh:  It wasn’t funny o. My brother nearly died of laughter
Toin: I’m dying here. Water is coming outa my eyes and nose

Now let’s pray she never ever sees this. Fingers crossed.

Please share your embarrassing stories in the comment section. (It can't be as bad as Posh's or can it?)
To my new followers, thanks guys and welcome to my crazy fun space.
Happy new month y’all. I’ll be back #wink

MY LADY LOCKS ;)

Oh, you think I wana give you tips and how to do your hair? Hahaha you’ve got to be kidding. I have absolutely no clue. In fact, I need help with my ‘chicken scratch’ & if you call me that, imma kee you.

A lot of crazy interesting things have been happening in my life. See, I try to be normal. I swear, I try but these things just keep happening to me. I think I'm nature's idea of fun. Someone must be sitting or standing up there, pointing and laughing their ass off at my life. (God, no offense)

So this is the story of my hair. My hair has issues. In fact, it’s always had issues. My hair has a mind of its own and bad*ss attitude. Sometimes it grows & I'm so shocked but I don't say nada because I don’t want to jinx it. Other times, it just assumes that annoying “grow? Yea right *rme*” or "grow ko, grow ni mshew" attitude. My siblings named it 'chicken scratch' because it’s used to be scanty.

I love my hair. It is very soft and beautiful. I just wish it would listen to me sometimes. I am allowed to only retouch like 3ce in a year.  When it's very due, I can still comb it with ease (without profanities). And about 10 minutes of Olive regular gets it retouched. It used to be about 5 minutes of Dark and Lovely Regular but I had to switch because, apparently, it was too tough for my hair.

Around this time last year, it started breaking badly after I did some Rihanna-type style that required serious bonding. When I took the weave out, I freaked because half (not exaggerating) of my hair went with the bonding thing. I stared in horror as more and more hair kept falling out. I could not cry at the salon although the lady doing my hair totally saw my despair. Knowing my hair the way I do, what I kept thinking was: what if it never grows back? #shudders. When I told Prim, she told me my new nickname would be baldy. So I ended up cutting my hair really low. I also made a mistake of telling my mom that I was thinking of going on short dreads. Let's just say, she totally spoilt it for me. Something about “why would you like to copy a mad person” smh for her. So after retouching, I was advised to leave it for a few weeks to let it breathe then try matting/corn rows for a while (didi olowo) so I got some wigs.

I usually leave the wig in the car; 1 less thing to worry about it the morning. I succeeded until one fateful morning when I had gotten half-way to work only to realise my wig wasn't in the car. Long story short, I rocked that hair to work like that o. I kid you not. Some of my male colleagues told me it was cute & my scalp was nice so I shouldn't worry. One actually said I should do more hair that shows my scalp cos it was sexy. #nawash. Anyways, that was that. Oh, you want to see a picture? Alright here:
This is the kodak-moment hair i took to work :)
After several years of fasting and prayers, it’s finally stable and I’m hoping it remains stable but I still need help. What kinda stuff do you think I can do to my hair so it doesn’t break or recede? What can do to give it more body and strength? Biko, help a sister out.

P.S: I’m officially jealous of Lady Ngo and Jemima’s hair.

P.P.S: Thank you all so much for the encouraging words and suggestions about my friend. I really appreciate it. May God bless and keep us all.

PLEASE HELP ADEMILOLA STAY ALIVE

Photo taken by my sister with her phone
Thank you all for the comments and suggestions on my last post. A ni firue gba. Today, i need help for a 2year old girl. I have never done this before on my blog but i just felt the need to do this. My sister told me about Ademilola and since she did, i have felt pulled to do something no matter how small. The girl pictured above is Ademilola Hanifat. She has a congenital heart disease (Large Perimembranous VSD L-R Moderate sized PDA with severe PAH) and she needs about 2 million for surgery in India. She was treated at Lasuth and one of her doctors is Dr Animashaun, a Consultant pediatric cardiologist. Please, i would like us to do all we can to save this little girl. My sister met her father when he walked into her office to open an account for Ademilola. I might not have 2million to give this family to save their little girl but i have this blog and if words spread, she might get the much needed help to survive. 2 million is all this family needs to save their girl. Please pray and spread the word in any way you can; Twitter, bbm, Facebook, blogs etc. I am aware that the father made this same appeal on some Radio Stations  as well (Choice FM and Bond FM) I also have a scanned copy of medical reports. Every help and suggestions are welcome from medical and non medical personnel.

I GET IT NOW

The last time I posted here, I was all thankful not knowing God had a lesson for me. So while I was all giggly and excited, my friend was struggling for her life. For some reason, my mind had been with her all through that week. I sent her messages but they weren’t delivered. I called her lines but they were switched off. She did that sometimes when she was stressed so I figured she was going to get back to me. You see, she was due to deliver this month. After I didn’t see/hear peep from her, I sent a message to her hubby on facebook but he didn’t reply too. After updating my last post, I left a message on his fb wall.

I however got a message on Saturday: “sweetheart just heard about the demise of your friend. May God comfort you” and I wondered who would leave me this kind of message with no name, bearing in mind that the sender and I had a lot of friends in common. So I ignored the message without even replying only to check my phone and see an updated status with my friend’s picture and RIP. RIP ke? I pinged several times but my messages did not deliver. I felt very hot and clammy and then I started feeling cold. Stone cold. Cold from the inside. My brain went blank. My heart was racing. I was confused. I frantically called to confirm but no one was available or picking. I was terrified of what I would find. Eventually, I discovered that her hubby had posted her death on his facebook wall. Ore was dead. It felt surreal. I hoped I was hallucinating. Like someone would wake me up and tell me I was dreaming. Apparently, she delivered on the 14th but died on the 18th of May. She didn’t pull through the complications after delivery. Eclampsia I think.

I've lost people before but Ore was more like my sister. She has been actively in my life for about 11 years. She’s in like 90% of all my pictures. She was beautiful, cheeky, amazing, smart, thoughtful, selfless, funny…awesome even. She was ‘olowo sibi’ (chef). She would cook and call to say there was food and we'll go to her room to eat. I even have a picture of us eating in her room half-dressed. Smh. She loved Maryland cookies & Pringles. Loved to tease. She named my brother Abedi Pele because of his bow legs. She was always up for mischief. We partied, studied, fought, acted silly and pretended to read at the library. We don’t do library reading. We both know when we go to the library; we’re going for some eye candy. Fun times. I remember how she would threaten to stop visiting me if i did not stop arranging stuff. Memories. And somehow, she’s gone.
I did not get it this well before. I honestly thought I did. I absolutely get it now. Death sucks. It totally sucks. So many questions. I keep thinking of ‘ifs’ and ‘maybes’ but i know what is done is done. I want to blame someone, anyone. I guess it was her time. It’s hard to swallow though. Sometimes i feel like crawling into a hole and disappearing. For many nights after her death, my mom would touch my fore-head while I pretended to sleep. My folks and friends kept calling to check up on me. My parents kept giving me that “I-wonder-what-she’s-thinking” looks.

The last time we spoke, I remember telling her how my mom had to be hands-down, the craziest mom in the world, and she was laughing and saying my mom is fun. I had no idea it was going to be the last time. Seeing her get lowered into the ground at the burial was so final. I thought I was hardcore and gangster. Maybe I am but not as tough as I thought. The tears slid helplessly down my face. I tried to stop them. I truly did but my ducts would just not cooperate. Seeing her brother smile through his tears tore at me. Seeing her sister looking lost opened a gulf of tears I never knew I had. Listening to her husband almost killed me. Hearing her mom tell me “ore e ti fimisile lo” (your friend has left me) broke my heart in a million pieces. But listening to her baby’s cries brought back a smile. A weak smile but a smile nonetheless.

I'm supposed to open an online memorial page and I don’t even know where to start. I sent her a message on facebook last weekend. Just because. I’m taking comfort in the fact that her little girl is alive and well. I also have wonderful memories. She was a wonderful christian and I am thankful to God for a life well lived even though short. I wonder what people would remember me for when I die though.

I have been reminded these past few weeks how we all should live ready and reconcile with God. Nobody knows who is next. Tell the people who matter to you how much they mean to you. People sometimes forget you love them so remind them. Pray, live, love, trust, loose, forgive, miss, fall, get up, try again, do stuff, go places, make mistakes and learn. May God be with us all.

This post is also dedicated to everyone who’s ever lost someone. And to the recent happenings in Nigeria and beyond. May all the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace.

P.S: My friend used to stay in Lagos so I can’t visit her baby as much as I’d like although I go to Lagos often but what else do you think we (the friends) can do for the baby? I was thinking about asking Ore’s hubby to open an account in the baby’s name so we can credit it quarterly or something but someone said he might not like it. Suggestions would be welcome. Thank you.

P.P.S: The race to broadcast bad news is becoming ridiculous. I had to tell someone to remove a display picture of a supposed dead guy who is alive and well.  To the sickos making jokes about the plane crash and deaths, God is watching you. A character posted a picture of a toy plane and said 'another plane crash’ like, how truly sick are you to be making jokes while those people were still burning? Don't people feel anymore? I mean, have some respect for the dead! #thatisall

P.P.P.S: Thanks to everyone who checked up on me. I am much better. 9jas Great xoxo, Lue, Honeydame, Sugarspring, Coy Introvert, Priscy, Daughter of Her King, Rhapsody, Emaleecious, Atoskin, every single one of you guys rock. Bless you.

GOD'S SPECIAL PROJECT

Hypothetically
You know that feeling you get
When you prepare for an exam and you read everything you can. You cover all the basics and tell yourself you’re fine.
Then you enter the exam hall and relax.
Then you see the question paper and heave a sigh of relief because you feel good about all five questions and tell yourself, you’ve got this.
Then the examiner tells you, you have just 2 hours to answer all 5 questions and you look at him like he’s suddenly grown horns.
Then you scramble for your pen and start writing, with that annoying voice in your head telling you not to bother because you know there is no possible way you would finish.
And you try everything to shush that voice.
And you write twice as furiously just to prove that voice wrong.
And when you’re nowhere near done, you’re told to hand in your paper because of course, time is up.
You hand it in while mentally throwing daggers at the examiner.
And you get terrified of what the results would be.
Then you start over-analysing all the words you wrote.
And you discover you really should have written ‘this’ or excluded ‘that’.
And a little voice in your head tells you should be fine but that other annoying voice says “please, you didn’t even finish”
Then you have to wait endlessly for the result.
In the meantime, you try your bestest to squash the negativity.
And you think of several ways of consoling yourself.
And you finally get the long awaited mail.
And pow!
You passed!

Yea, this is exactly how I’d been feeling lately. But oh, the joy of knowing you passed. You’re so giddy, you can’t think. The world is at peace again and you can breathe. Again.

Lately, God has been coming through. I'm not exactly where i want to be but i definitely am not where i used to be. And for that i am grateful. I have been feeling like i'm God's special project. He is definitely on my case. I constantly feel like doing some Stephen Boss aka Twitch moves (from So You Think You Can Dance) and dancing to the songs in my head. (groovy songs)

And the songs in my head? Try this: God in Me by Mary Mary (Can i crump to this?)

Or this: Ara Ile by Simi

Or this: Thank You by Mary Mary feat Kirk Franklin

And that picture of Twitch? Yea, i just like to ogle him. Cute huh?
Have an amazing weekend.

ELEVENS

I got tagged by DHK,  Ibhade, Sugarspring, Cee and Lady Ngo in the Elevens. Luckily for me, DHK and Ibhade have the same questions. I might have to edit this to answer Cee and Lady Ngo's questions. *whew*
THE RULES
*Post the rules*You must post 11 things about yourself*Answer the questions that your tagger posted for you*Create 11 questions, then choose 11 people and tag them to answer your questions*Remember to let them know you tagged them*No tag backs*Let the tagger know when you answered their questions*
11 Things About Me
1.      I don’t do favourites.
2.      If I could, I would remove all the pain from the world.
3.      I love math. Believe that and you’ll believe anything lol.
4.      I don’t think alcohol likes me very much which is fine because I’m not a fan too.
5.      I’m a perpetual laugh-er. I just love to find the humour in everything. I wish I could get paid for laughing or sleeping. Sigh.
6.      The glass used to be half empty but I think it’s half full now. I’m learning to always be grateful for what I do have and focus less on what I don’t.
7.      I watch a 1000 ways to die and some people think I’m morbid. I don’t think I am. It amuses me and makes me realize simple everyday mistakes we make that could be deadly. I also don’t watch it religiously so you can breathe too :)
8.      I used to dance…a lot. I don’t anymore, well, unless I see food. I know I don’t have shame.
9.      Yea, I love food that much. Sadly, I don’t eat that much. I try though #kanyeshrug.
10. I love to sing. You should see me doing some Whitney-type ish. Even my bathroom walls agree. You better encourage me to go on one of them idols shows so I can become the next Carrie Underwood.
11. I absolutely can not stand it when someone squeezes paper in a bunch and throws it at me. It irritates the hell outa me. Plus, I find it rude and disrespectful.

Questions from DHK and Ibhade
1. What hairstyle are you currently rocking? A straight weave.
2. How long did you spend in primary school? 5years
3. What is your naughtiest moment? hehehe, I am the queen of naughty so I don’t even know which to pick. I’m always up for mischief :D. Let me just share one of my sane moments. My sister (Prim-not) was the class captain in her primary 5 and the class donated for her to get a gum for the class. My dad stopped to get this gum on our way home on this fateful day. As soon as we got home, I took the new gum and my sister’s Common Entrance practice book (Ugosi Ugo) and I gummed the book, page by page. When I was eventually discovered by Prim-not, she put both hands on her head and burst into tears. She then looked at me in horror and screamed “Gum class mi!” (My class gum!) Needless to say my dad had to get another gum on our way to school the next day. In case you’re wondering, I was not beaten for it :D
4. How do you express your anger? Thing is, it depends on how angry I get. I love the silent treatment. Sometimes I take a load of crap because I just don’t want to believe that you’ll know something will piss me off and you’ll do it. So most times, I’ll give you enough rope to hang yourself. I can also be a fireball and go off for about 3 minutes non-stop and then stop and walk away or laugh. I have a friend who gets on my nerves just to hear me rant and then he laughs because he says I look funny which makes me madder. I don’t fall for his bait anymore though.
5. What would you spend your last penny on? Anything that catches my fancy at that time.
6. When was the last time you treated yourself to a niceeeeeee warm food? This morning.
7. Who was the last person you said “I love you” to? A friend who said he hated me :D
8. What is your favourite take away dish? I really don’t do favourites.
9. How do you eat in public, spoon, knife, fork or hands, loud, quiet, slow, fast etc? It all depends. I can represent with fork and knife or use hands. I prefer hands with solids though. I also prefer to eat fast because I get bored easily. If I do it slowly/drink water, chances are, I won’t be full but it’ll bore me so I won’t finish it and I’ll be crying hunger the next 15 minutes. I don’t gobble though.
10. Do you polish your shoes? When I have to.
11. What are your thoughts on after life? There has to be a better place than here. This can not be it.

Questions from Sugarspring
1. Who on earth do you think loves you most (apart from God) My family. Of that, I have no doubt at all.
2. If you were to sacrifice your life for someone, who would it be?
I really don’t know. Anyone deserving I guess.
3. Have you ever had a crush?
Oh yea. Currently crushing on Boris Kudjoe. Guy is smokin’. He’s married though. Sigh
4. What’s the naughtiest thing you did as a child? I don’t want this post to be about how naughty I am so I’ll refer you to #3 above but I tell you, you can do a series of at least 4 seasons on the stuff I have done.
5. If today was your last day on earth, where would you rather be, what would you do and who would you want to spend your last hour with?
I would want to spend it with my family relieving fun times.
6. If you were given a second chance to begin life again, would you rather be someone else or the same YOU? I love me and I do me really well. It’ll be too hard doing someone else.
7. What are you so passionate about in life?
8. If you were told to sing a solo for someone on the radio, who would it be going out to?
Hmn, leme think and get back to you.
9. If you were told to make a shout out to just ONE person on TV, who would it be going out to?
This is easy, Mo and trust me, I’ll be doing some Jenifa-type sharouts.
10. Have you ever cried for a friend? and why?
Me cry? For what now? *side eye*
11. If Jesus was coming today, would you be ready?
Are we ever truly ready for anything?

My Questions:
  1. What’s the one question you would ask God if you could?
  2. What is your most embarrassing moment?
  3. If you could change one thing in the world right now, what would it be?
  4. If you could say one thing to the current pope, what would you say?
  5. What’s the one thing you wish you could "un-invent" in d world and why?
  6. What’s the most terrifying moment of your life?
  7. If you were to be recognised by posterity for one thing, what would you like to be known for?
  8. What colour best describes you?
  9. If you could commit one crime without being caught, what crime would you commit?
  10. If you had to name one lesson of love that took you the longest you learn, what would it be & why?
  11. If you could be guaranteed one thing besides money, what would you want?

You must have noticed that i have a thing for breaking rules (kanyeshrug) so my 'tagees' are:Miz-cynic (Special tagee :D)

FEEL GOOD TIME :)

Last week Monday, I got nominated for the Liebster Blog Award by Relentless Builder aka K *cough* Someone suggested this new name to her: Ileayooluwakiishukiishakiite (don’t even try to pronounce that) but i think she's still considering it. Hi HoneyDame *waving* lol.

That weekend wasn’t restful enough and I had been looking forward to the next public holiday in Nigeria. You see, Mondays and I don’t really get along. I try but Monday is just not pulling his weight (yea, Monday is a He). I even tried using Mike’s method of yay-ing Mondays but who am I kidding? It did not work and then I got a message notification of the award and suddenly, Monday wasn’t looking too bad. I almost almost loved that Monday.

Thanks Relentless for making me almost love Monday.. The award made my week. Awards make me excited. *moonwalk* If you haven’t already, you should check out her blog. She blogs about everyday stuff in a down-to-earth style. She's passionate about education and she reviews gospel music too. She has a spot-on sense of humour and you’ll love it there. She’s amazing.

Just in case you were wondering what the Liebster Blog Award was, here's some information, courtesy of JostWrite: "This award we’ve discovered is given to bloggers who inspire you and have less than 200 followers. The Liebster Award takes its name from a German word meaning 'Beloved, Dearest or Favourite.'

Now for the terms and conditions:
1. Link back to the person who gave it to you and thank them. (check)
2. Post the award to your blog. (double check)
3. Give the award to 5 bloggers with less than 200 followers that you appreciate and value. (just 5? *breaks out in a sweat*)
4. Leave a comment on the 5 blogs to let them know that they have received this award. (hmn)

Ok, I am going to break rule #3. I have a lot of blogs that i love and 5 just won't do so please (getting on one knee) if i read you, follow your blog and you have less than 200 followers, you have automatically been tagged! Please pass the love around.

Congratulations to the following bloggers:

Nigeria: Of Prophets And Profits

This piece was written by Collins Uma. I stumbled on it here. I found it interesting enough to share. Enjoy.

It has often been said that the average Nigerian can live, work/do business and succeed in any part of the world irrespective of how deplorable the conditions are in that place. This is because he believes he has seen and heard it all,no matter what. Every Nigerian you see on the street is proof of the fact that no force – social, economic, political, cultural or even supernatural – can stop a man who is determined to live. Recent events, however, have hit us in such rapid succession that we are all gasping for breath while staggering on our feet as we wonder if the gods have not hit us too hard this time as they test our resolve to run the gauntlet, at the end of which we might find national prosperity and greatness. We lost our ability to be shocked long ago. Like water poured on a duck,we have shaken off some scandals and crises which would have brought other countries to their knees if not to the point of extinction or annihilation.

While we were still trying to understand how a President could budget N1billion for his feeding in a year, the Capital Market Probe Committee revealed to us how the Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) illegally and criminally spent N30million out of our common wealth for her hotel accommodation. Then came the Pension Scam. Few greedy thieves feeding fat off the toils of millions of Nigerians. Before we could comment on that, news filtered in of how our dear King Ebele of Otuoke broke his own record of lows by using the office of the President of the most populous black nation in the world to solicit and get a church built in his village by an Italian firm looking for contracts from his government,in blatant contravention of the code of conduct for public officers. We were still gathering ourselves to respond to that embarrassment and disgrace when we got distracted by Mr James Onanefe Ibori, the big thief from The Big Heart.

The facts of Ibori’s prosecution, conviction and subsequent incarceration are all there for public consumption. When the pictures surfaced on the net recently of him and a man of the cloth(a highly respected ‘Daddy’ I must say),I pondered in my heart what must have transpired between them. Being an ordained minister and a certified member of the clergy myself,I know that such meetings hardly take place without the transfer of some ‘Prophet Offerings’. It didn’t start here. In the Bible,Naaman, the Syrian government official in the Old Testament(2Kings chapter 5) took some with him when he went to visit Prophet Elisha. Whether our ‘Papa’ in that picture rejected the offering, as Elisha did, is another matter.

Nigerians are deeply religious people, which leaves you wondering how come people like Ibori still exist within the top echelons of our society. The answer is simple. Our prophets have become much more interested in the pecuniary profits they derive from their interactions with these men than in the permanent gains of practicing their profession before these men.

Let’s go to church.
King Jehoshaphat, in the Bible(1Kings chapter 22), before going out to war against an enemy king, looked around and asked a question. He wanted to win the war and he knew there was a role ONLY a true prophet could play so he looked around and asked,”Is there no prophet in this land?” The country was at war and the prophets acted as if it was none of their business. Those who were called could not look the king in the face and tell him the truth.

The importance of religious leaders in a society like Israel’s in the Old Testament and Nigeria’s now can never be over emphasized. That was why the king in Prophet Elisha’s time wondered why there would be a prophet in the land and the people and the people would still be in such socio-economic quagmire, and he threatened to have the prophet decapitated unless the situation changed. That same day the prophet spoke and within 24 hours there was a turn-around(2Kings chapter 6,verses 24-33 and chapter 7).
I stand today and I ask:Is there no prophet in this land?

Our productive workforce is being decimated daily by a confederation of terrorists, bad roads, police brutality and unspeakable fraud and corruption in government.

Is there no prophet in the land?

A mind-boggling N1.1TRILLION has been criminally siphoned from government coffers under guise of subsidy payment mostly to government contractors who imported no petrol.

Is there no prophet in the land?

Within 24 hours, the Accountant-General of the federation crazily signs 128 cheques each worth N999MILLION for subsidy payment to looters and our Pastors and Imams keep quiet forgetting that this is money that could greatly improve the living conditions of the worshipers in their churches and mosques!

Where are the Pastors in Delta state?

Governor Uduaghan was the Secretary to the State Government and Deputy Gov.Utuama was the Attorney-General during Ibori’s reign. They were part of the corrupt administration. How come nobody is asking any questions?

Do not speak to me about prosperity if you cannot speak against the instrument the devil is using to deny me that prosperity.

Where are the Imams in Abuja and Niger State?

Have they asked why Kabiru Sokoto who masterminded the Christmas Day bomb blast in Madalla,Niger State, close to Abuja has not been arraigned?

The success of a religious leader is not measured by his ownership of a private jet or fleet of exotic cars or by the calibre of government officials who pay courtesy calls on him but by what positive change he is able to bring by his words and actions within the society in which he finds himself. This is why America will never forget the Rev. Martin Luther King Jnr, a Baptist Minister and Malcolm X, one of the founding leaders of the Nation of Islam, and founder of the Muslim Mosque Inc.

As a religious leader, when your name appears in the news media, it should be for something better than the defence of masturbation. It should not be because you slapped a female member of your congregation or because there is a debate whether or not a former bank chief who is on the run for fraud contributed to the funds for your private jet. Your prophecies should also be about something of more significance than the scoreline of a Super Eagles match or which Nollywood actor will be alive at the end of the year.
As we trudge along on our journey to recapture our greatness as a nation, it is time for the true men of God to stand up and be counted. Yes, God is watching.

As Rev.Martin Luther King Jnr said, “In the end, we will remember, not the words of our enemies but the silence of our friends”.
